There have been so much noise about Monaco teenager KylianMbappe, especially after his recent showdowns with top sides in the Champions League.

There have been questions if the young striker would go on to be a prolific goalscorer like Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Many analysts have likened him to the former French star but another Arsenal legend Martin Keown has opined that the 18-year old is more like another Arsenal ex striker Nicolas Anelka.

“We had Anelka at Arsenal when he was 17 and it was truly amazing when you see someone so talented that young. I get the same feeling watching Mbappe,” Keown opined.

The French star scored in the first and return legs when the Ligue 1 outfit knocked out Premier League side Manchester City in the Round of 16. He got a brace when Monaco played Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the last eight of the same Champions League.

In the local league, he has scored 12 goals and assisted five after 22 games. Keown said the player was “something special” and has shown signs of maturity.

There have been reported links to Premier League sides ahead of the summer transfer window. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are allegedly keen on the newly-capped France rising star. United have a history with Monaco where they signed striker Anthony Martial. Who knows if they would do a players’ trade for the younger legs?
